Winter wobblers going on BC?

That'll teach you for kerb crawling  :p

Just brought my winter wheels out of storage, stacked them up around the car in the garage. Went in this evening for silicone grease for my sewing machine and looked at the wheel and thought - that’s not round...:(

As you can see I’ve a decent amount of sidewall and I’m careful not to straddle speed calming humps. I don’t remember hitting a pothole but I guess I must have. No idea which position it was on the car.

Going to make a call tomorrow and see if it can be straightened. There’s no crack or visible damage.

All the other wheels are round (I’ve checked them) and that was the only wheel that was visible which I suppose is handy.

I know what it's like BC, have a bent rim on the 55 :(

Oh yes... it is quite straight on the left hand side, isn't it!
Yes, didn’t notice when I took them off. No visible damage to the tyre and nothing to see from the outside.

I see quite a few vehicles with wobbly wheels when driving around, so it’s quite common. These are pretty small wheels (16” with 205 55’s) so not as susceptible as some of the cotton bobbins with rubber bands around the outside.

Hoping it’s repairable, never had a wheel straightened before

I've used a club hammer and a shaped block of wood before now and had some degree of success. We used the same method on tractor and lorry rims, only the club hammer was substituted for a big sledgehammer. Mind you it was in the mid nineties and in New Zealand ;)

I’ve knocked steel wheels into shape, alloy I’m not so sure of.

You’d be doing it upside down with a Kiwi fruit and a rugby ball...

Started the 500 up after sitting idle since August

No issues
Seems a shame to sell it, makes the drive approach much nicer sitting there when we get home :D

If it's a good'un you're a fool to sell it!

NB. Although it looks like it has a leak...

8 cars and 1 bike, orders from the chief I afraid :(
That's always a good sign to see that type of leak on the R230 ;)

Decided to treat my engine to some of this: Fuchs Titan SYN-MC 10w/40.
I just do prefer the 10w/40 to the 5w/40 for older engines, and I prefer better protection over increased Fuel Economy.

I've never used Fuchs Engine oil before although I have used their ATF on many occasions as it is in fact Mercedes Factory-Fill product.

And it was quite reasonable at £18.50 for 5lts delivered with a Screenwash Tab thrown in!

I know I only did an Engine Flush and Oil Change with Petronas 5w/40 a couple of months ago but the oil in there was quite dirty so it won't hurt.
