Just saw this in the car park at the docs, it is an AMG, just wondering on the forums thoughts on the styling...

Not my thing but looking at the car I suppose there is an attempt to match the copper coloured calipers. I assume the coloured ring on the wheels are rim protectors...

Why? is a very good question and it made me think of the reasons why I think it’s ‘tacky’, it may not be cheap or badly made but for me, it sits in the vulgar sense of tacky, tasteless and of poor artistic quality, the colours just do not gel, Silver Grey car, Black wheels and Mustard highlights? It just doesn’t add together aesthetically and make a better product. I can understand the desire to add something to the wheels, to add definition and break up the all black monotony but I think again mustard is a poor choice in colour, and I’m afraid the ‘Go faster stripe’ down the side of the car is just so reminiscent of the Ford Escort Mexico and RS 2000 liveries that were so popular as aftermarket additions for the 1970’s boy racers, it’s just ‘tacky’. Looking closer, it looks like the owner has highlighted the calipers in gold? Well again, brake calipers can look tired and needy, I understand why owners feel the desire to clean them up and give them a lick of paint, Red looks sporty but that colour choice has to match the model/performance of the car, Black or Silver are popular choices with opposing highlights that both look good, but Gold? It’s just… well… Tacky!

Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal choice and I’m sure some will like it, it’s just not my cup of tea. :)

The colour combo of the car is to my taste dull alone but the mustard pimping looks at odds. I would prefer red/gloss black enhancements on that combo of colour but hey, it is very much a subjective matter! Not convinced that wheels need striping anymore than white lettering on tyres which used to be all the rage in USA...

I like that ^^. Now you can see the whole car, it makes sense. I am colourblind, so any colour that stands out looks good to me. Too many grey black and silver cars already in the world

I entirely agree with you on that, hideous. As for Russ's picture of the one at the Doctors the driver must be very mixed up. He has a car that many of us dream of and then he messes it up with that crap, tacky is not a strong enough description
