good day , does anyone know if the jacking points are the same model to model, the reason I'm asking is , I'm looking for a jack and wondered if the white foot is the same for all models or did the jacking points change at all ??

I went through the process of looking for a jack for my car as it has run flats which I will change to normal tyres when they wear out. So I want to be able to remove a wheel in order to self repair using the kits you can but off eBay etc. I found that most modern MB jacks are the same. So do what I did and take some photo's and measurements of your jacking points and go to a MB breakers. I got mine for £25.00 including wheel brace and carrier, It looked like it had never been used. Before I paid for it they let me try it to make sure it fitted right. I have posted a photo on here somewhere when it's in place in the car.

Hope this helps you.

One lesson learnt I'll pass on - if at the roadside you need to jack the car up to remove/replace a wheel, make sure the parking brake is on, especially when jacking to change a rear wheel. With the car in P and the parking brake off, as you lift the car it WILL roll forward and come off the jack - please don't ask how I know!!:oops::oops:

Nice to know I'm not alone in the muppetry stakes - although I took it one stage further with my 968 cab, managed to drop the offside off axle stands with both offside wheels off while lifting the NS to get axle stands in, that was a real panic - and thankfully very little damage done!

Park/hand brake and a wheel chock if you've got one to put under one of the front wheels or if its front wheel drive, in gear, is a must with any car. My driveway is on a slight slope. I wanted to see if the jack would do the job, and it did, using the above precautions. At home isn't a problem as I have a trolley jack.
Just left in park is no good as the car can roll slightly until the park pawl engages.

It’s worse than that, because if you lift a driven wheel with it just in park then it can roll forwards (or back) as the diff will allow the other wheel to move.

Moral of the story is , Chock the wheels remaining on the ground....2 chocks to each wheel.
Has been changed from "chock" ( Cadburys ) because as Chris pointed out ( and rightly so ) Cadbury's Choc's, are not guaranteed or intended to to the job.....:D:D:D:D

I'd suggest adding a K to what you secure the wheels with - a Cadburys Dairy Milk will not do the trick, but a wheel chock will!:D:D:D

You'd be out of luck Jim, I've occasionally tried to take a swig out of herself's glass and nearly lost a hand in the process!:eek::D:D
