Well done.Just bought this one.. View attachment 64570
Other than this rather disappointing problem, how do you rate the 2016 S Class, I still pine for my W220, the comfort in those cars is outstanding.Sounds good.
Thank you...I'll look for it..
Thank you. The dealer that I purchased it from said the same. Is there some quick fix like friving it for 50 miles or so? All my journeys are less than 10 miles due to the COVID.Could it be the car is attempting a dpf regen? I know of other marques where the cooling fans run as you have described when this is happening

Thank you. My understanding is that the codes are not displayed from the ecu and that it is a communication problem somewhere.A sensor is out of spec, open circuit or there is a communication problem with an ecu.
The fan will run at 100% in these cases when the engine is cold.
You may be lucky and get the idea from the code reader linked (if it's in the engine ecu) otherwise it will need xentry or something more advanced
My last car was a 2012 Jag XKR and a better car than the Merc. Everything worked 100% and the layout of the controls was 100%. There was a lovely large knob for adjusting the fan speed. The heater set at AUTO worked 100% to fill the cabin without hearing the fan. In the Merc, the fan always appears to be running too fast and blows air onto the windscreen continuously. Maybe there is a fault with it (the Jag used blow the air onto the windscreen for the first 3 minutes after starting and the dampers would then change over to the footwell etc). There is not enough hot air blown onto the footwell. The seats in the Jag were far superior to the Merc. and had more control settings. After driving 1 hour in the Merc, my back is sore...this has not happened in any car I have had for the past 20 years!Other than this rather disappointing problem, how do you rate the 2016 S Class, I still pine for my W220, the comfort in those cars is outstanding.
Thank you for that, phew! Now you have me wondering if I have been using those rose tinted glasses again, I must admit i have had a fleeting moment of wonder about the Jaguar I Pace, I do think in the not too distant future they will become much more common. My last car was a 2012 Jag XKR and a better car than the Merc. The windscreen wipers set at AUTO do not wipe quick enough. In the Jag, they were perfect every time.
I hate the gear shift on the steering column! Its actually dangerous...I have hit reverse gear thinking it was the indicator....
I find the rear suspension 'rubbery'. This has been checked by 2 Mercedes garages and they can find nothing wrong so I don't know if is a problem or the air suspension.
Other than the above, the car is a great looking car and overall 'quite' good for not the best in the world!

Normally giving it a good run will be enough to clear it. A run up the motorway to the next junction and back should do itThank you. The dealer that I purchased it from said the same. Yes there seems to be a comms issue. Both the Merc dealer and the knowledgeable Merc guy said so...90c is the normal running temperature, don't know why light is on, maybe showing due to no comms to sam module or ecu as fan is running full tilt as well.
Thanks.
That is good news. It means the fault is with the pressure sensor in the aircon condenser.
Some people leave the A/C on all the time. When did you last use it.
