That includes driving right into and out of Paris for 2hrs; we were averaging 39-40mpg before we caught the Peripherique.

Failed it's MOT on the Handbrake, going to Coverdale 2 on Tuesday to get it sorted then a re-test

Will also need Engine mounts doing soon as they are sagging

Not around here it isn’t. We’ve always managed all seasons on one tyre so I personally don’t see the need for Winter Tyres. To me it’s just another way for the manufacturer’s to sell you tyres. Autumn and spring tyres will be next.

If we start a rumour that they made 2 very early prototypes in 1981for the C and E classes it could do wonders for values.....

That's the plate it came with when I purchased it. It's in good condition for its age but I doubt that the value will rise on a E240. I'm happy with it though.

Might be interesting to compare previous owners. Seems a bit of a coincidence to have a C & an E in same colour from same era with such similar personal plates.

New front disks & pads, and new rear pads (have the rear disks but the old were OK & it started to rain real rain!)

Low pedal and vibration on hard braking fully cured, just the non-latching indicator stalk and the intermittent Sedated Slug mode to go

Drove it from Hampshire to Lynton in North Devon. One of the highlights was going up a totally clear Porlock Hill otherwise a pretty average trip.
