I have been nothing but polite and patient I have not made any threats or been aggressive in any way. The manager was that aggressive and threatening I had to call the police who have logged it as a public order offence against the manager

I feel we have a great opportunity for watchdog to drop them in it, we could get some cameras following a journalist getting the same treatment (of course it won't happen - Merc will pay off the BBC to keep quiet)

I'm guessing.... its a tractor you got the legal emission update and now the NOX sensor issue has bitten ?
its really rather pathetic. Merc know they need to fit 2 new nox sensors before applying the update they are fitting... or the workshop will be busier and reception will be full of angry owners....

Hi Botus, i had the issue after the software upgrade now i have 2 nox sensors, addblue sensor, throttle valve leak, water pump and that is after 1500miles after the upgrade and MB deny any liability, both health reports checks they give me they contradict each other
where i can find the info that they must change sensors before applying the software upgrade?

I have not contacted the dealership, emails have been sent to the Mercedes address that booked the service and the CS address on the recall letter. The first email was sent around an hour after collecting the car. I know it is not a main dealer, I'm guessing franchisee is the next level below?

I am going to get in touch with the ombudsman, anyone have any other suggestions whilst I await a response?

hi there same issue i submitted the complain to the ombudsman as well as the garage deny any liability of the fault in the sensors after the upgrade.

Perform a retrofit of special equipment code ‘30o’ via Vdoc – requiring online diagnostic session and official login – it updates the vehicle specification on the Mercedes servers (the idea is so the official parts server lists the correct (modified) NOx sensors. The parts department are unable to confirm the correct modified parts until this server update takes place.

After adding special equipment code ‘30o’ and fitting the current spec NOx sensors, update these three modules with current software release - Engine, Transmission & SCR modules (SCR = AdBlue) – the Engine and SCR module updates include the technical modification required to suit the CORRECT modified NOx sensors that were needed at original build, but they fitted budget ones that never operated correctly!!

Not feeling good about what comes next. My first mercedes a c250 amg blue efficency 2012, it's going to be a massive headache I feel.see how it goes in the early stages. Is there anyone independent that can roll back the software update.?

Mercedes ayr wanting 150 to diagnose, not interested in customers, just out to fleece everyone. Refused to remove update also. Raking ti local garage because mercedes will never touch my car again.

Nobody needs the hassle and expense of Adblue systems that are just not fit for purpose. For not much more than the Mercedes diagnostic fee, you could remap the car and delete the adblue system altogether.

I have an outstanding airbags recall on my car and won't take it in because I don't trust them to not plug a computer into it.
I had it mapped and don't want to lose the map.

No. This is well known story and amougst others why my motor goin nowhere near a benz update.

Not without complaining according to posts on this forum...

Normal situation is car goes in for update and then just afterwards engine warning light comes on. Owner then complains to Mercedes Garage who deny all knowledge and ask for ~£200 diagnostic fee, then the NOX Sensors are advised as failed and ££££ bill to replace.

Once the adblue system starts the 500 mile countdown, I could only reset it 2 times, on the 3rd attempt it retained the remaining miles in the memory and the light stayed on.
