Guys is there no other way? the pressure on the exhausts with something held there is high and with bottles there you can hear air comin out a tiny bit its not air tight. I dont have anythin else to use im at my friends house he hasnt even got a 10mm spanner to take the battery off.

The air intake has been TIGHTLY jammed with a dust sheet for over half hour now... still not shutting off..

Is there not a ignition switch fuse anywhere?

its a cdi. the plastic pipes just clip on. if you can see the fuel filter, pull the pipes off it and direct them into your bottles

I mentioned i did this earlier in the thread but it didnt do jack for over half hour LOL.

What i done now to shut engine off is put mole grips on fuel pipes showing on front of the engine and it cut off literally straight away. Ive since disconnected the negative side of the battery. Next post i will explain what happened....

and by the way i appriciate your help so far thanks alot guys!! life savers.

FAULT........
Ok i was driving on the motorway as usual and DISPLAY FAULT appeared on the dash followed by 7 malfunctions and all lights came on dash (as if your about to start a car but dont key position 2 or something). Anyway it followed by 7 malfunctions which was SRS error, ESP, BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, CHECK BRAKE LIGHT and various other odd malfunctions including BIG RED warning saying something about DASH ERROR VISIT WORKSHOP ASAP or something. And also the stereo switched off. It still was driving fine an my lights were working.

I carried on driving and decided to pull over into the hard shoulder to turn ignition off to see if it solved the problem. I turned the ignition off and took the key out waited 2 mins then put the key in and it started up OK with no malfunctions i drove for 3 minutes or so then ESP, SRS, BRAKE FLUID LEVEL appeared 2 mins later and stereo went off..ect..ect. The big red visit workshop error appeared again too.

I drove to the nearest petrol station took key out popped bonet to get brake fluid level and the engine stayed ON with the key removed.

So i drove to my friends and have been messaging from here since. I clamped the fuel pipe to cut off the engine and disconnected the battery.

so you switched the switch to off and removed the key as normal, but the engine carried on running when you stopped at the petrol station?

This is the second one in 2 days with the same symptoms.

So the display indicated that the ignition had just been turned on,,when in fact it was running, this is what brought on the ABS and ESP lamps

I have to go for a faulty switch ,,come on other guys some thoughts to ponder over

Does the locking still work as this could give a clue

Yup

and from then onwards the key wouldnt work at all. Had the battery off for abit now and reconnected battery and retried key but same thing its jammed. BUT when i do put the key in the ignition lights come on Just cant turn it to start it. Its like its in position 2 the non started position.

It might be handy just to join up the battery and try it as it is all part of the EIS and DAS this is the part the recognizes the key

Yea ive reconnected the battery after like 15 mins and retried the key but its still jammed.

Maybe it doesnt recognise its in park?

shall i check to see if the battery voltage is ok? would that cause any problems?

BTW the horn dont work and i forgot to mention the stereo went off aswel when i first got the malfunctions.
