Broke a bit off my engine cover (not air filter part) after dropping it while removing....and now it won't seat properly shame!

(In my defence it's covered in oil and slippy from a leak - still shameful though.)

It's the kind of thing that doesn't need replacing but I really want a shiny new one!

Took the 129 for a 200 mile round trip. Out bound roof up as the weather was quite cool and variable (and MrsLK said no) but roof down all the way back.

modifying anvil on merc camchain link press riviter ,as designed wont clear cam gear enough for tool to be parallel to press pin out and rivit new pin properly ,then i did not like clip,very springy and will end up somewhere it not supposed to be so made link with half split pin retainer

The 500 is still at Welwyn Merx, which means the Missus get my car and I runabout in the old Triumph

Was this part of a chain replacement job? Or modifying an existing chain by removing / replacing links to make up for wear? Nice pics by the way.

annual inspection of lovelies baby benz replaced both sides brake pipes ,removed and lubed h/brake cable (great fun ) changed linings , checked all bearings and not pictured ,changed front flex pipes. oil and filter,no fuel filt was done xmas last, front pads from my scrap doner car, they were almost new. just a few jobs left, replacement headlight bulbs .i changed all the fake wood trim from doner to this as well.

I like your wheel's free lift ajlsl600,,, would fold away very neat, I imagine. Do you have a special tool for shaping the brake piping?

I had 4 brand new wheels on my ML when I bought it but the dealer put the old corroded centre caps on.

Reloaded the 2018 NGT4.5 road maps as the Nav system had a wobbly the other day. Hopefully that will sort it I changed the battery a month ago which may have led to the problem, we will see

Cleaned the rubber seals and drains around the roof and boot. Lubricated all the hinges in the folding mechanism then lubricated the boot and door key locks.

I also went for a drive sans roof

I've spotted you dipping in and out , been waiting for the long promised E350 purchase

today a long day ,just getting to the point whre i can get the valve cover off ! to get at the cam chain i am looking to change the amount of stuff to remove is,frankly,astounding, (i miss my ford escort at times like this ) 2 hrs just to get turbo off , but so far nothing broken , tomorrow injectors out. cant get cover of without removing them. made up slide hammer attch just in case , they came out easy on my "spare" engine ,which i used to practice my procedure on. hope to get to the point chain fitted tomorrow then , mon or tues to put everything back , eng was ok but at 150k miles i wanted it done. the one i took out of spare eng had more curve in than william tells bow ! cant see how cover comes off with turbo there,cant see how to get slide hammer in line with injectors with slam panel there ,cant get that off with bumper there ! bit of a bitch really.wot t do ? some pic may be same ,but you get the idea , would HATE to be paying benz for this, and in my view, other than service filters the maker seems to have had not the slightest concern over what a ball ache everything else is to do . that said i have had good use from it.
