Mercedes SBC – Sensotronic Brake System Recall – Extended To 25 Years!

I was looking for info on SBC braking and came accross this.

This obviously an American ambulance chaser website, but is there any truth in the 25 year extention?

and thats why we should ,if you have SBC be going after MB why should we be getting shafted ref this system and the yanks not ,are we ,in the uk second class customers ? were our cars cheaper ? did we sign some kind of disclaimer? this kind of thing is a good reason to be really cautious about buying cars with this system .i am NOT benz bashing , just wondering why the lack of parity .its either a problem or its not. unless the issue is only evident/manifests itself in north america ???? sorry guys but this kind of thing irritates me much, and i no longer have SBC !!!!!

Now that the SBC pump can be refurbished and reset for just a few hundred pounds I cant see the problem.

As ajlsi600 says above. Why should the UK be treated differently and to some people, a few hundred quid is not a small amount. Maybe 'Let them eat cake' comes to mind.

The DVLC have always lacked teeth but I think we can lay the blame nowadays on EU legislation which is dominated by Germany and its manufacturing base

That's not what the article says.
Specifically "Day-to day regulation of the auto sector, including approving new car models for the road, remains under the authority of national governments."

the problem comes when benz decide they can treat consumers in the uk with a form of financial contempt that they cannot get away with elsewhere .
