if its exists then I guess its possible a software update would correctly enable it...
maybe worth contacting comandonline with the chassis number and a bit of potential business for them

others can do it.... obviously main dealers (should be one hour of chargeable work and up to 3 hours drinking tea) MBS at Southampton I hear are good

usual caveat with dying modules tend to give up when they get a poke from the new software. Its mostly utter rubbish and a fault beforehand that you weren't aware of that causes it

Thats a shame, very odd but these units do seem to be temperamental dependent on vehicle and spec + which phone you have of course. If the usb stick option via the media cable is practical for you and you have the option on your NTG4, its a good feature and worth loading up some tracks! I got several hundred tracks on the 16gb stick with space to spare still, all at 320kbps. Botus has a point, maybe a software update would help? Even if it didn't lead to you doing anything, they are really helpful, professional and approachable - I'd say its deffo worth dropping them a line. Also had a thought, do you have the music register option, you can copy up to 4gb of music to the Comand Hard Drive.

I love that reply these seem temperamental...

why do you think there are software updates? its just no one in this country seems to bother maintaining their vehicle appropriately

Fair enough, I’ll give the dealer a go, however they’ll undoubtedly want to replace the unit and update the lot thereafter. A 10.5” android install would probably end up cheaper

Thanks for the replies

I would still contact ComandOnline as they are probably the best people to give you proper advice. If it is likely to be a faulty part, they can probably supply you with the replacement with the instructions you need to change it. All it needs is an email to them with your VIN so they can look up your car. sales@comandonline.co.uk

You are much more likely to get a sensible answer from them than a dealer.

I did contact them this morning and received a reply late this afternoon. Unfortunately, due to distance, the advice was to take it to a dealer and ask for a software update to see if it helped, they are just too far away.

:)

Interface is above the glovebox next to the heater motor.
My problem turned out to be a faulty interface, £25 used unit from ebay and full function is restored.
I took the opportunity to pop the heater motor out, separating it from the plastic casing (the 2 screws at the end allow this) and you can access both oilite bearings for lubrication.

Glorious stereo for music and the mono chipmunk under the dash is gone.

A decent mornings work

:)
