If I ever change my 212 E350CDI, it will be for one of these.

How so? Blobcat.
The GLC was black with black interior,
and 20” alloys. Nothing like as nice as my W213 E220d insides and whilst more modern than my SLK it just wasn’t as comfortable and worse fuel economy. Also the roof didn’t open...

I test drove a W222 S class 350 cdi today, and i have to say what a MAGNIFICENT car
I thought my C207 was smooth, quiet, fast, fully loaded etc, but the S class is on another planet! :D:D:D

Would you say the steering wheel is a bit small considering the big cabin space?

S500 (W222) 2014. Turbo 4.7 V8 with loads of toys. Superfast luxury.
I suspect it has LED interior lighting so may not be that easy to convert to red! :geek:
The LED lighting on the inside can be changed to whatever colour you want

I always fancied an S class and the 221 was on the cards until I saw the interior of the 222. Just love the big screens and the curves on the dashboard.
Now I have one I can't stop smiling when I drive it.

Kids used to do that in my W213 when it was cold outside - bright red glow on setting 5

I started off by looking at 221s but I have a feeling I would always regret not going for the 222...;)

I had the new E from late 2016 to 2019 for £450 pm I talked to Merc About a fully loaded E 350 and was up to nearly 600 pm. I then found and negotiated for a S class W222 new 350 grand edition specced with driving assist etc For a few pounds north of 600. Not since I was 17 years old do I go out look at the car on the drive and just go for a few miles drive and feel great for the sake of it. On a round drip of 200 miles motor ways at 75mph I got 51mpg remarkable. This car has remained at or very near the best luxury car in the world for more than 50 years I get it.

Any recommendations on tyres w222 350 would be welcomed. As normal looking for safety (wet) comfort (Noise and ride) economy (wear and mpg) around £200 each my car comes with 20 inch front 245 and rear 275 Not on run flats from new. Should I be? Thanks for Recommendations

I'd take a look at Goodyear EfficientGrip - really good wet rating as well as decent economy. Very impressed with them on my SLK so far. No you don't want runflats.

I agree and had them on the E but unfortunately Goodyear do not do the efficient grip in these sizes Eagle F1s yes but not these ...as a matter of interest also not relevant for current car but last E with 17 or 18” Mich cross climates all year round superb also loved the M40 in snow in the right hand lane but quiet on the same road in the summer. Anyway back to the S.......
