Vibration

Hi guys recently on my cls I’m getting a vibration through the steering wheel but it comes and goes and it’s quite bad but I can’t see anything noticeable. The gearbox isn’t the smoothest at the moment either so could it be linked with the vibration? Any suggestions would be great thanks.

Wheel out of balance or not round and front wheels of felt through the steering wheel

Hi and welcome.
If you've hit a pothole recently then out of round wheel or damaged ball joint.
If you regularly straddle speed humps then out if round wheel.
Failing that check engine mounts, gearbox mount and exhaust mounts.

Ok thanks guys are the engine mounts easy to get at to check them over?

Grip the engine and give it a shake really

Or put it in reverse, foot on brake and apply a little accelerator and watch for one side of the engine to lift. Put in D and repeat. More than an inch and they're shot.
