Booked the E convertible in for its MOT 10th May, a full 4 weeks before its due. Car 'noisy' on front end over humps (always negotiated with care) and poor roads so thought it better to allow for any parts time as need it for another trip to sunny Wales early June. Can't describe it really...
I'd think the stud pattern of a Range Rover is different to an MB plus the rim size will be incompatible on your new car with bigger wheels. Space saver wheels not shockingly expensive from the fleabay so I'd let the current wheel go with your Landie, it won't be much use to you in reality...
A bit of steam after start-up is usual for most motors - noticed more in cooler weather of course. I get it in both of mine but it soon disappears. I'd expect it to clear when the engine is warm. If not, I'd be checking things like HG failure. But if you're concerned as per Malcolm says...
They can be repaired / overhauled also exchanged. It may be worth seeing if MB have the parts you need, sometimes they can be surprisingly good value. I have used Hoodtech in Chester before for frame repairs but not my current MB and only as they were close to me, but other professional repair...
A207 now out of winter storage and now away for a long weekend on Anglesey. Lovely drive down, excellent Welsh pothole free roads! What a joy to drive on. Down to Benllech Beach in a bit with the other half and the Labrador! Probably involve a chippy lunch!
Vince13 I'd suggest as you've had the chords replaced privately, you wouldn't have much success at a retrospective claim against MB via the Ombudsman. You may have had a case prior to getting them done. My thought is you've avoided a whole lot of faffing about and now at least you have a roof...
Cheeky of him! Those O series Rover engines were good, HG's failing weren't common. How things have moved on. That V6 in my old Coupe could churn out 175hp and the average 1.5 can do that now! The Honda lump was warship built.
How super. I had one, 1999 T registered. Was so cheap to buy used, bought as a get me by about 2003, kept for 8 years which surprised me! Lovely engine note but fragile. A nice place to be with beautiful (real) cream leather seats like barges! Quite a rarity nowadays.
This is sadly a known fault on your model. Seems to be a case by case argument with MB re weather they will contribute to the repair. My best suggestion is to go to the dealer you had it from - hopefully an approved used MB establishment - and refer to the Bulletin (see below) with some...
Jack_M I have the sports dampers on my A207 (essentially a W204 with a fabric roof)! I don't use it much. Good for rapid overtaking as firms up, holds gears and has probably helped me avoid hedges and fields over the years but other than that, not much use. Think yourself lucky - the dampers...
The A207 is quite low sprung. The gap from the top of the tyre to bottom of arches is quite tight. Has yours noticeably changed and has it become more noisy? Could be rod ends if its groaning, drifting or noisy when turning. Any play in the steering wheel? Possibly I would confirm the...
Per Wighty Autodoc are very good. Also ask Mercedes Grangemouth (parts team) for a price too. Most of us on here have had things from them and if you mention the forum they usually give a healthy discount. It also ensures you get the correct parts. I wouldn't trust ebay either for such a...
