ipod intergated

Hi, i recently had a new battery fitted and everything went well until i tried my Alpine KCE-425I ipod integration kit. I can see it on the Nav display and hear it, problem is I can only adjust the volume, where as before the battery change I could change tracks from the steering wheel controls...
