Hi all,
I have recently acquired an ml 270cdi on an 02 plate.
It had a brand new ECP turbo fitted, Done no miles and had killed the turbo! It's been sent back under warranty so we see.
As that takes 4 weeks I bought a used one on Ebay. Fitted and all seems fine. However! This is the big issue it now has.
1) It smokes like a pig on startup from cold (Possibly oil residue?)
2) I changed the air / oil PCV valve on top of the engine and noticed it is breathing like nothing I have ever seen back into the pipe into the turbo.
3) when warm it has diesel knock on idle (I assume its diesel knock) and the injectors have been leak tested fine.
When driving (Now) it seems fine apart from its leaving a trail of oil (Not the oil return from turbo to sump or turbo base) so was wondering if there are any ideas?
Finally, the shaped breather pipe from pcv to intake. Is this a genuine part only?
