Fate took the hand that I (in reality) didn’t want- did the online auction thing as I was travelling but I guess I didn’t give it my full attention (or being a Scot bid too low), but I lost out. Shame I don’t get any feed back just that I was not successful (Maybe didn’t even reach reserve). Don’t think I’d do the online thing again, you’ve to deposit £2,500 (refundable of course) to bid!

That's quite steep and a shame it didn't go your way. I think I had to register a credit card when I bid in person but I've been to bed since then so might be wrong.

@John Laidlaw - just checked it didn't sell - if you contact them they can let you know what the sellers reserve was. When I bought from them I was about £1,000 less than the sellers reserve, they called him and he said he'd let it go for £500 more. I said I wasn't prepared to up my bid, because of his fees he decided I could have it at hammer price so I was happy. I'd call them reiterate your bid and ask them to check with the seller and see how far apart you are.
