7G Gearbox Tunning

Is there any way to improve the 7G gearbox?

I just find that these gearbox are so damn laggy in urgent situations, if in an emergency i put my feet down it takes a good 2 seconds minimum before it gears down and then shoots forwards.

Is there any programming or modifications that can be applied to increase responsiveness?

I believe this is a common issue with all 7g boxes

I went direct to Weistec. However, MSL Performance are the UK Weistec dealer so depending on USD/ GDP exchange rates Acid may be able to get you a good deal.

I am sure this is worth doing on a c63 but on a clk320 spending that amount of money would never give any returns i think!

I was hoping there were maybe cheaper alternatives available. Such as TCU tunning or software remapping

There is a "software" map i think.
MSL had a couple of options for me but i wanted the increased line pressure to the "clutches" so went the "whole Hog"
Give MSL a ring and speak to Assad and he will be able to advise

I seem to remember Robin (rsk21) had his CLS63 (White Shooting Brake) re-mapped a while ago down at MSL. I think it was done by Jason with the Gallardo who happened to be there at the time. He reckoned it brought the shifts on quite a bit quicker, though I've not really seen him to speak to since.

As Lee says above, Acid at MSL is the man to speak to, he knows about these things. :)

I have read the other posts but my 7g changes gear instantly in "S" mode even if my right ankle twitches...Lol

Only in "C" mode in an emergency does that 2 second slow bit but then only at about 5mph and not really on the move!

It changes even quicker since my re-map so it must be how quickly the revs are attained for changing gear!

When i had the ATF changed at my specialist dealer it also was on STAR for a time so whether it had an update who knows?

I have read others complain about lag...but they are always in "C" which to me is a Comfort mode so why should the box change down too quickly with any jerks?

MB state that "S"mode is the normal driving mode.

Also driving style is what these ECU`s get used to and learn!
