hi desperate for help

i have an 86 190e 2.0ltr. its a recon engine fitted by previous owner ,how ever my problem started with misfire then cutting out to not starting at all
i have changed plugs leads ignition module etc still no good!!
this is the puzzling bit you can now turn rotor arm round without turning engine over, ive pulled the dizzy out and thats fine unfortunately the drive in the bottom of turns freely "?" this is where i get stuck i presume it comes off the crank or timing chain does anybody know and if so can you elaborate

many thanks

have you checked your rotor arm-does it fit on snugley or has the plastic lock in it perished-remove the rotor arm and look inside it to see if the the little plastic lock is intact.

if the rotor arm is intact ,then you may have a broken drive shaft for the rotor arm
