Got a nice zip-up carry case of car care products after having the smartguard thing done. The carwash stuff says to dilute 1 to 200 parts water.

What am I to do, measure 200 tiny capfuls of water per tiny capful of stuff, put ten capfuls into a measuring jug, see what that is and multiply it by 20 ... or maybe use my electronic ******* scales, put empty cap on, reset to zero, fill, multiply by 200?

Turtle wax has it sorted, one capful per bucket of water!

So what I do is fill a turlewax cap full of this "ceramic shampoo" per bucket of water and hope for the best!

Imagine what effect instructions like this could have on someone with OCD!

(edit, why is the word K.itchen censored??)

200 to 1 works out at 5ml per litre.

5ml is a standard medicine spoon.

Firstly....why?

The carwash stuff says to dilute 1 to 200 parts water.

I guess it is a guide, it is not 1:1, it is not 10:1 it is not 20:1 or 2000:1 but it is 200:1.

3-4 teaspoons for the average bucket might be easier for someone to understand I guess?

1 capful seems like a good idea and probably pretty close to that in all reality...

Can't say I have ever bothered measuring car shampoo out, lob some in make bubbles/foam in bucket and wash car... Hopefully with some nicely smelling shampoo too

Well this "Smartguard titanium" stuff is called "Ceramic shampoo" and the bottle is just 250ml and probably costs as much as or more than a dirty great bottle of turtlewax etc.

Unlike the turtlewax etc, its cap isn't something you'd use as a measure, unless you have a lot of time and patience!

All I'm saying is their instructions cannot be followed without some conversions and it wouldn't have been difficult for them to do that, no-one's going to measure 200 tiny capfuls in to a bucket so why say 1:200.

Post 3 gives you the answer

Standard 10 litre bucket will take 50ml

Surely you have something at home that you could measure this with ? A measuring jug in your ******* maybe ?

Sorry, what I meant was, everyone always seems to knock Supergurad type products, just wondering why you decided to go for it?

As a product, it performs well ( in my experience on my 203), its just that it is generally hugely over priced from the dealership.

I didn't join this forum until after purchase and hadn't sought any independent reviews but it seems to do what it says on the tin, whether it will for 4 years remains to be seen.

I have since realised I could have got the same or very similar for less, the same applies to the Becker map pilot and would have applied to the gap insurance had I not had an idea of what I should be paying, which is about a quarter of the £800 the Merc dealer wanted.
