hi
i;ve got a problem with my girlfriends mums A class (A140)
when you select drive and come off the brake slowly, it makes an awful sound, like your in a hull of a ship.
i know why it happens(happens in my dads toyota, but not this loud), but of all the cars i;ve been in and driven, this is extremely loud!! (sounds like the hull is going to split)
we are going to sell the car, but i want to fix this, as anyone who may come to view the car would certainly be put off. i know i would!!

thanks!!

its the same sound all autos make when slowly coming off the brake.... its just much louder in the a class. i'll take a video and post it up, as i cant really describe the noise properly.
thinking about it, i think its more louder in the a class as the car wheels are alot closer to the driver... that an maybe sound deadening isnt that well.

thanks for your reply!!

I would try removing the pads and greasing the pads were they run in the carriers. also remove the metal shims on the carrier and grease them up. Grease up the slide pins for the caliper, with the caliper removed, pull out the slide pins with the rubber boots, clean and grease and refit. a class can suffer with sticking brakes due to poor lubrication. that should cure it.
