ABS EPS BAS On My E320 CDI

Hi i want to test the relay on my e320 1999 i have ABS BAS EPS on the dash want to rule out the abs pump have a c1401 code when put on diagnostics any ideas which is the relay for the pump need to mot the car soon

I would change the brake lamp switch first at only £11

EPS?.. If ESP I've had that trio from 2 different causes.

1. dud wheel sensor.
2. very low battery (can also trip the autobox limp mode-won't change out of 2nd).

Not saying they're the answer but that's been my experience.

i had it on my E300 turbodiesel. new brake light switch cured it

Thanks will try brake lamp switch, Alternator failed few weeks ago new pulley and that's sorted now, water cooled whats all that about lots of fun putting that back on voltage back up new battery and still the three dreaded symbles

they can take a while to stop coming up, unless you have the codes cleared. it took about 3 months on mine. id decided i was going to tolerate it (wasnt an MOT failure point at the time) then one day i got it and it didnt bring up the warning any more!!!

As said above check you battery, if is not putting out more than 12.5 volts this can also cause the problem you have mentioned.

If you have had the battery off (assumign yes due to alt change) then move the steering wheel lock to lock to reset the ESP.

ok new battery alternator pulley changed re fitted new brake light switch so must be the abs pump on with locating the relay to test the pump
