My 2002 ML270 seems to have lots of play on the Accelerator pedal, left to right as I can wiggole it with my foot.

It also is very sticky and jerky, very noticeable at low speeds when you need to control. At the moment at low speeds it is very difficult to slowly accelerate, as dur to the sticky / jerky nature of the pedal its almost an on / off switch :-(

Tried a search on the posts but cannot find anything.

Can anyone help or suggest anything for me please ?

Regards
Richard

I had with mine the same thing, there is a pin with a spring C clip that goes throught the pedal.

The C clip had fell off & the pin had worked it's way out.

Check this is in place, if you have lots of side to side movement

If you want to check out my web page on ML's, you will see that I had the same issue with the throttle and how I fixed it. Address is http://members.optusnet.com.au/iananddesley/
Some have suggested removing the spring on the firewall end of the throttle cable - didn't work for me but may for you.
