Activate Carplay w213

Hi,
I have a E-220D year 2020 vin nr W1K2132041A825332

I thought the car had applecarplay and dident test it when i bought it, not smart i know..
Is it possible to activate it for a reasonable cost?

Hi Sigge , welcome to the forum

I can't help with the Apple Car play query as I've not seen what the system looks like. I assume it's what is in your image.

Make sure that Siri is on. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.

How to activate CarPlay?


For wireless and USB cable setup, the rest of the process is the same:

1. Plug a USB cable into your car, with the other end in your Android phone.
2. Your in-car infotainment screen will ask if you want to use Android Auto, click yes. ...
3. Read the short text on your phone and then click Next.

According to the options list above, you have the headunit system NTG5.5 and there is no reference to Carplay or Android Auto so not much point trying to activate something that’s not there.

There are retrofit kits available in the UK - have a look at this but no idea what you can get in Sweden,

I have the same problem. I live in Sweden too. I will investigate how I can solve it. Did you solve the problem?

Is that the centre console (armrest). A 2020 W213 should have Apple Carplay as I think it was standard from 2018 onwards, BUT it only works from the USB socket in what used to be the ashtray under the Aircon controls, not off either of the sockets in the centre console.

Absolutely @BillyBoy the op's photo shows the centre console ports.
The correct port on my car for Apple Car Play is in the forward compartment to the right of the wireless phone charger.

However, the symbol on his R/H port is the same as mine, so it should work ok !!
