I've replaced 4 tyres in the last 4 months from pothole damage and also lapse of attention when I hit a kerb pretty fast. Since then I have noticed a rotational noise which I don't think was there before. Thought it might be a wheel bearing or damage to wheel but have had the the wheels checked, tyres replaced and geometry checked on Hunter equipment. No adjustment was necessary but alignment / tyre specialist says the bearings need adjustment. This was new to me but they said Mercs have adjustable bearings so have booked this in and will have geometry checked after adjustment. The question is - is it better to adjust bearings rather than replace?

Next question - have had a brake wear sensor come up and can see that front discs and pads need replacement and will book this in - Question is should I use Mercedes discs and pads or are there better ones.

Thanks again for any advice

I'd probably use Autodoc and Brembo brakes for discs and pads - it's what I have and did on my SLK

Mercedes have some play in the bearings by design which can upset garages who don't specialise in Mercedes

The noise could be from the brakes - I'd jack a wheel up and give it a spin

Always check the price at the MB dealers if they have them on the shelf sometimes you can get a good deal as I did when I changed the discs and pads on the S212

I would say avoid original brake discs and go with aftermarket Brembo or ATE.

Some will recall my genuine mb brakes disintegrating from the moment they were fitted and aftermarket ones being fine. See a few questionable looking BMWs with similar scoring patterns my MB ones had which seem to be down to crap material.
