Maybe if people didn't have so many 'accidents' it might help lower premiums

Maybe if uninsured drivers were thrown in jail for a couple of years and made to sew mail bags instead of having their car impounded and given a slap on the wrist it might help lower premiums.

most acts of folly on the roads go unseen by the enforcement authorities, and consequently go unpunished. (speed limits, and their abuse, are a weak substitute for effective traffic law enforcement).

I think we need more visible policing and each traffic car should be fitted with a shredder. A driving licence should be seen as a privilege, not a right, and with that privilege comes responsibilities.

Blatantly stupid or reckless driving should therefore be observed, and the "driver" in question should have their licence passed through the shredder on the spot (prompt, proportional, fair = just).

Then there would be fewer drivers on the road, far fewer of those who cause "accidents", more room for the rest of us and lower insurance premia.

Simples, tch! :D

Would agree with that Alex - prevention better than cure. Interestingly - good drivers are being rewarded with there policy being reduced as the "black box telematics systems" are just around the corner. This will revolutionise insurance and GOOD drives will pay less and will low mileage users - so not all bad??
