I'm looking for some direction when it comes to replacing 4 tires for the 2016 C220 Coupe.

The current tires are run flats and i'm guessing I have to stay with run flats.

I have enquired and some garages have said that I can run with regular tires, is this true? If I do change to regular tires will it effect the suspension/ride.

Tyre size is as follows:
Front - 225 / 40 / R19
Rear - 255 / 35 / R19

I'm getting quoted about €1,000 for a set of 4. Does this sound right?

Any makes/brands I should consider and also what I should avoid?

You don't have to stay with run flats , and yes it will improve the ride a fair bit . Have a look up of Uniroyal Rainsport tyres that always get recommended . I have a set on the Clk .
Have a look at online tyre sellers like Camskills and Tyreleader that are often the cheapest . That's who I always use anyway .

Check Camskills for the cheapest runflat prices in the UK, a lot less than £1000. (I've had too many problems with Tyreleader in the past!)
You've the same size tyres as mine, if you ditch runflats you'll need to buy a tyre inflation kit (compressor & can of gloop) or find a spare tyre, if you have Adblue like mine, the spare wheel well is where the tank is situated so no space for the spare under the floor.
Mine has air suspension so the ride is not so harsh, for that reason I'm sticking with runflats.
