I have just replaced the air mass meter on my s500l it is a 2000 (x)
The replacement came about after my local dealer cleared some old faults on the diagnostics and spotted a current fault with the meter
The dealer quoted me £340 for the part and £160 for the labour, of course i didnt let them have the job at that price so i bought the meter form a local parts supplier at £146 for the original bosche part
My brother is a mechanic with 20 years experience under his belt so he has the knowlege with diagnostics so replaced it and cleared the faults... all seemed fine for a few miles but has now became very lumpy on start up and extremely jumpy under acceleration (almost dangerous i would say!) and the check engine light is back on
Could this be a faulty part or are we missing something that needs resetting?
Please help....
