I'm currently running 285 30 19 summer tyres on the rear of my car, a w205 2017 c63 but want to put all season tyres on, which is no problem on the fronts but they don't
make them in this size for the rears. Can i fit 255 35 19 on, which would be 30mm narrower but within speedo tolerance???

Have a look in the handbook to see what the options/possibilities are. Anything else and you'll have potential trouble with your insurance company.

Unfortunately MB only approve summer tyres in these sizes. So it's a risk I'll have to take.
Thanks for reply

MB will list a winter tyre option for your car. Check fuel flap/manual

Second set of wheels for the winter?

You may find the compromise in grip from good summer to AS an issue on a powerful performance car (and a reason MB don't approve AS on an AMG)

After many hours researching, yes it appears MB have not approved any all weather tyres. So now looking at full winters. Pirelli Sotto zero on rear and michelin Alpen on fronts. Both MB approved.

From your insurance perspective the tyres don't need to be 'MB approved', they just need to be the correct size and load and speed rating. If you're able to find all weather tyres that meet those requirements you'll be fine.

Car manufacturer tyre approval is more to do with a financial deal between the car manufacturer and the tyre manufacturer than anything else.

Problem is nobody makes all season tyres in the rear size so have no choice unless I also change wheels which then gets very expensive

What other sizes are listed in the fuel flap or owners manual?

I can see 245/35 19’s on MyTyres website as an option for a W205 C63

Put your reg in and see what comes back - I bought a set of winter tyres and wheels from them for my SLK in 2018 - still using the wheels now - replaced the tyres after 4 winters use

I've looked at those tyre websites and manufacturers websites, like I say nobody makes all season in my rear size of 285 30 19.
No recommendations in manual either. Filler cap only shows pressure
