[b]Cold Start problem...here we go again!!!![/b]

Yup, the cold start string has another addition!
Basically i have had the fuel consumption of the car corrected, yet the cold starting problem is still there!!!
One out of two isnt bad so far i guess!
But i have had the cold start valve checked, OVP changed, sender unit (Two pin) changed, distributor checked, rotor arm checked, plugs changed, air filter changed! and still the cold start problem occurs, a big thankyou to all the memebers who have given advise, yet the problem is still there, is there anything else which may have been overlooked, as when the car is warm the problem does not occur????
Really is a bother as when this occurs its frustrating from my side, and also am worried as this is doing the car no good, otherwise the drives like a dream, and looks good too!

Hi,

I've had that problem always and both I and, initially, the dealer, have given up on trying to find the cause. A friend of mine who had the same problem said that the only way to fix it is by adjusting the mixture screw (with a very long screwdriver) inside the barrel of the KE jetronic unit. I have not tried this, however.

I will try and find the text for an earlier post which explained a fix for this it invovles soldering a certain resistor into the air temp sensor which has the effect of temporarily riching up the mixture on start up This was detailed by a merc factory technician in attachment to the post, it is on my work computer, watch this thread and i'll post it sometime next week when i get to it Whether it works, who knows!
