Hi i have a 2003 facelift S 350 and had my local garage fitnew original . front and rear brake pads c/w new brake wear sensors.
Now after driving the car about 3/4 miles i get the above warning message appear in the dashboard.the brakes work perfect.
Has any other member had a similar problem? any solutions apart from taking it to MB and getting ripped off.
Many thanks

Not sure how long ago your garage fitted the pads, but if recently, have you taken it back to them to check (looks like a sensor has a bad connection, or
has failed)

The pads must be incorrectly fitted or wires shorting to ground. Go back to garage who fitted them.

i think the car will need 'telling' new pads have been fitted.... i take it the pads were fitted by a non MB garage?
if so... the guy is lucky to still have all his fingers !

As far as I know there is nothing to reset as this is normally an ignition reset.

these things work by a electrode built into the pad that is set to make contact with the disc when the pad has worn below the recomended thickness, Some have a memory that is cleared by a key start, others only have a contact that lights the warning lamp when braking. I would love to know if there is more to it, but I have changed many and never had a problem.

Hi all
Many thanks to all members who replied with advice on my problem,i can now confirm that after taking the car back to the same garage and they found out that one of the brake sensors was not properly located in its socket .
The car is now fine so once again many thanks to all members who replied.
