car wont start

2004 220 cdi
car wont start was intermittent but now wont start at all.
I am thinking of changing ecu and key kit with same part numbers.
any advice

Do you have a local independent MB tech nearby? I would have the car towed/trailered there for them to do some diagnostic tests before throwing money at an undiagnosed problem.

Is the starter turning the engine over?

had the car in widnes auto electrical for a week and they couldn't solve the problem. they actually got it running again but only lasted a day. they suggested it could be one or more of a combination of modules all of which was very costly

Leave the key in the ignition overnight, dont turn the ignition on just leave the key in the hole then try starting it the next day.

Sounds like a knackered starter motor.

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
no the engine doesn't turn over. was an intermittent fault. had the car into widnrs auto electrical services for a week. they got it starting again but admitted they dont know if it was anything that they had done. as it turned out it stopped working the next day and hasn't started since

As post no 2.. get it diagnosed by someone that specialises in mercedes.. Takes a lot of guessing out of it and probably cheaper in the long run !

Well has anyone checked the starter motor, there are other causes, but the car needs to be looked at by someone who knows these cars.
