CL500 C215 Exhaust, Remapping and Brake upgrades.

As I said though, the 129 is a very different beast. Totally different exhaust, exhaust port layout and manifolds.
The 129 has 2 exhaust ports per cylinder whereas the 215 has one.
The 129 is 4 valve per cylinder, the m113 is 3 valve per cylinder.

No he fitted an x-pipe where there wasn't one.
As it happens somewhat redundant as the two pipes combine into one over the axle anyway this making almost a double X.
X squared?!!

Go for a remap and x pipe as has been suggested. Our first r230 500 was a lot quicker off the line and we achieved 29mpg easily on a long journey. When we replaced the car with another it didn't have the same get up and go and only managed around 27 on long journey.
It was called a Stage one remap if I remember rightly.

Interesting. Malcolm's car can barely squeeze 27mpg on a good run. The r129 feels a LOT quicker than the r230 too. Being a 4 speed the 129 struggles to better 25mpg.

I was able to hit 30-33mpg on a run in Gunther…

The Jasper Blue SL was a brilliant car, never have I driven another SL500 than rode as nice over the bumps and humps as this one did. It just stayed level all the time over them.
All the others followed the humps :D

Did you bring that to a meet/ car show somewhere down Essex way 3-4 years ago?

It's been to Cars on the Green in Bury St Edmunds and the Duxford meeting where I met the legendary Television. I did meet you at the Bury event.

It was the Bury event I was thinking of, thank you for reminding me! I could remember it, just not the name. That was before I had the AC fixed in the 215, God it was a hot drive home!!

My 215 easily achieves c.33mpg on a run.
