Title says it all CLK elegance 2004 wheres the vin plates?

Newbie be nice.

always wanted a Merc finally got one going through paperwork and getting concerned, I did by it from a reputable dealer so my concerns should be un warrented.

As with all cars, on the dash. View through the windscreen from outside the vehicle. Bottom left corner.

That will be the obvious one and ....... could be changed.

There will certainly be another one, stamped somewhere. I don't know about Mercs but when I had a Ford it was under a flap in the carpet just forward of the driving seat.

Welcome, tried under the bonnet or on the bottom of the windscreen?

In the nearside windscreen ,on the drivers door pillar where latch is

well ill be damned if i can find it, only vin i can find is a black sticker on drivers pillar.
not on windscreen and spent half an hour yesterday looking under bonnet.

Should be a little tag part of the dash as you look through nearside bottom of windscreen as well if not could be a replacement dash from accident or the like ,what as the dealer you bought it from said regarding it ?

To add this is an import from Ireland, Dublin to be exact.

should the vin be elsewhere as well? not worried just got V5 all looks OK just I have a "niggle" in the back of my brain and just want to supress it!

Don't worry my Dublin car does not have it in the windscreen either...but has it elswhere.

Been over car and carpet on Passenger side has been cut!

Should i be worried or investigate further?

The plot thickens did think all mercedes had them in window as well as door post from factory irrelevant as import or not

well all looks ok

checked engine number and hpi checked it all clear.
