Hi All,

I have just had my gearbox serviced from "Mercs only" in West london, I was thining that this would resolve the jerky gear change my i was experencing from time to time, however its still there, albeit alot smoother but still noticable, i feels as if the clutch plates are hitting together alot harder than required, HOWEVER i must state this happens very rarely the majority of the time the gear change is smooth, the guys from mercs only said the gearbox was in tip top condition, they found nothing unusual in the ATF when it was removed. ANY ideas???? Could it be a matter of too much back pressure????

ANy help welcome.

Thanks in advance

if it is only the 1-2shift its quite common, is it a 4 or 5 speed box 722-4 or 5.

I believe its the 4 speed.

Is this damaging my clutch in any way, as a work colleague of mine said that one day the clutch will slam together and smash both plates??

Is there a fix??

Thanks again for all your help,

OK if it is the 4 speed there is a spring mod, an easy job by just removing sump and changing K1 spring,This is the only fault-mod shown. Don't listen to old wives tales
