On saturday morning last my 00 E320 CDI would not start, battery died after one attempt, i had to jump start, this worked out ok, i figured i needed a new battery, got a new battery, car still takes 3 attempts to start in the morning, no problems once warm. Had glow plugs done 6 months ago, glow plug light is not staying on and glow plugs are still reading ok when checked by my mechanic, he wants me to leave the car with him overnight so as he can see the problem himself with a cold start in the morning, has anybody had a similar problem ?

Had a similar problem, but a new battery did fix it [and car got new glow plugs before bought it in September]. Starts on the button so far, but haven't relly seen proper cold weather yet.

Leaving headlights on was the straw that broke the camel's back, and the battery never recovered.

New battery has not fixed problem, problem is some mornings, perhaps twice a week, glow plug light goes off, but i do not hear them powering off (do you know the noise i am referring to ?), when this happens it takes usually 4 attemps to start the car, then it starts.

What do you think ?, will this eventually damage the new battery ?
