I need to put some rear seatbelts in my 1972 W108 280SE. The brochure I have suggests that they were an option on this car, so I would have thought that there would be mounting points already, but if there are then I can't find them.

If there are any, can someone tell me where, or if there aren't then what's the procedure? We can't really use her as a family car until I get this sorted.

Fitting rear seatbelts in W108 1972

Hi Simon,

If they are there, and I can't be certain they are there. First remove the rear bottom seat squab. If they are there, there will be a black plastic stopper which will be able to be removed with a screwdriver.

Good luck

Aha..!
I found the black plastic stopper, but expected the hole underneath to already be tapped, which it didn't appear to be. Would you expect that to be the case?
