Leaky Struts on R230 SL 55 AMG

Hi all,

I’m new to this and forums in general.

I was wondering if anybody knows where/if the struts can repaired rather replaced?
I have been all the way up to Liverpool to get my ball joints restored and am now being told I have leaking struts on the ABC suspension.
I’m hoping that there was excess oil on them when they put back on the car as they were fine before I had the ball joint work done but I am preparing for the worst and would like to gather as much information as possible.

I have only had the car 4 months and its cost just under £3000 so far, buying the new struts will take it above the 5k mark.

Hello and welcome.....a most unfortunate experience but presumably you had budgeted within a discounted purchase price for the ball joint work. I would not have expected the ball joints to have suddenly gone ''sloppy'' within the space of four months.

Ouch I feel your pain... these are expensive to fix and the main reason i went for a 350 .... not sure you have much choice...

There is a big difference between leaking struts and misting struts, in other words a strut can mist and look oily but it must not drip, these are the rules, I had a misting one from 17k miles and it was still the same at 70k miles.
