Hi all, after owning many different 4x4 vehicles over the years, I have never had or even wanted a Mercedes... But since a motorbike accident I have decided a bit more luxury would be nice. I am now the owner of a Ml270 CDI and have to say I love it.;);)

Hi and welcome to the club, although I have a 270Cdi Ml I can't help but there is one guy on here that in all probability knows just about everything that carries a tri star. His id is Television and I am sure he will be along to help soon, please don't think we are ignoring you it just sometimes take a little longer.

As to your problem have you replaced the offending power take off, I assume you mean the one in the passenger side just left of the centre console.

The BAS/ASR light come on mine every now and then, when it does I stop turn off the engine restart and turn the steering wheel lock to lock about 4 or 5 times, it seams to be a common fault that the steering sensor gets a bit confused so it may just be coincidence that they seem to occur at the same time.

Glad you are generally happy with the car. Ian

Thanks Ian, I will try the steering from side to side and see if this does it, I have noticed just to add to the problem that the interior lights have failed so I will recheck all fuses tomorrow both under the bonnet and by the pedal box.

F13 is the interior lamp fuse rated at 10 amps, as above the traction control lamp should go away if the fuse has been removed and replaced once driven

Television, many thanks, checked and this fuse was missing hence why I didn't find a blown one, must have removed it during test and somehow missed putting it back,,, it was a long day! Everything working as it should and the dash light has gone out. Very happy... Next job change the badly leaking inlet manifold and the motor will be good... Not looking forward to that though.

Again many thanks.
