Hi guys have noticed that the handbrake on the ml270 is not working at all. The lever clicks down as it should and it feels as though there is resistance but the wheels aren't locking. Any ideas? I have never worked on a foot operated parking brake.

The foot brake operates exactly the same as if you had a handbrake. 2 cables pull a set of shoes inside a drum inside the brake discs.

If the cables are connected, its likely the shoes have worn out or broken up.
