my 1988 300 e stalls and shuts off when i slow down or stop

hey can anybody help. my baby (1988 300 e) when slowing or stopping the engine will rev and then die. it starts back up with no problem. it started out doing this every so often, but now it does it at least once a day. any help will greatly appreciated

thanks, I'll give that a try, would you know what an circular warning ligh with another dashed circle around it means. this light started showing around the same time the stalling problems started

Brake lining wear indicator?

I had similar stalling issues when coming to halt at traffic lights in my W124, turned out to be a faulty fuel pump relay.

curiosity question I just cleaned to idle control valve now have problems starting car. car will start if i mash on the gas but will stop once i rlease thr pedal. any suggestions
