c class and slk
I had a little no fault bump in the C CLASS Estate whilst parked which was fixed by the insurance co(Flux) with proceted NCD.

Now should i have to inform the insurance co on the SLK that i have had a no fault claim ??.Both cars are insured indepentley with different companys. Will i get stung insuring the SLK at renew time as a result of a claim on the CClass??

If you had a bump say (in the works van etc) would it affect your private car insurance??

Yes to both ... Its a claim you would have to put in as the driver .... A claim is a claim an insurer would argue..the premium on your next renewal will go up ..... NCD just protects your NCD theybstill take into account claims...

Yes to both, for small claims it really is worth trying to sort it out between you and the other driver without involving or telling anyone from the insurance industry (remember technically the incident is important, not the claim so even if your car is slightly damaged and not repaired (or repaired out of your own pocket without a claim) you still should make sure you haven't told the police/insurance co about it as it still counts as a "loss" and therefore hikes the premium!

A glass claim or two can also significantly impact the premium or lead to the cheaper companies not covering you and effectively doubling your premium so if you have a stonechip that's not an MOT failure don't believe autoglass' scaremongering nonsense and leave it alone!

None at the monent, but there's an OM642 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee!

I think a lot depends on the car as to how much bodyshell stress is transferred to the screen.

On a old Citroën, I had a 5mm crack propagate across the entire screen over the course of a day's driving. Conversely, there's a 'starburst' chip on the Volvo S80's screen which has not grown at all in seven years!

Regarding the original query - as others have said, the answer is 'yes' to both. You are supposed to declare all 'accidents' - regardless of fault, or whether a claim was made.

It might be tempting to 'overlook' a no-claim accident, but things can have a nasty habit of catching up with you
