Hi
iv owned and run honda cars for many years with satisfaction. (Jazz, Civic, and Accords )
I recently thought it was time to change and as Id never owned a Mercedes I looked around and was offered a C280 2008 that was nice light interior and unmarked outside with just 20000 miles and fsh.
The car runs great, feels very safe. confortable and well made. After years with honda the mecedes felt heavy, solid and big even though the Accord was near the same size. The mercedes seem full of gadits to play with.
Performance to mpg is a lot worse than the hondas maybe due to the extra weight. The mpg is not an issue as im a very low milage user with this car.
One issue i do have (and upto now the only one) is that when I fill up with the cheaper petrol once or twice with that tank full the engine management light come on, goes out after four or five start ups and does not seem to make any differance to the running. When I fill up with the higher grade "v" petrol the light does not come on at all.
Apart from the light or the higher cost it not always convenient to get to a station that has the better grade.
Has this problem must have come up with your members Im guessing it an emission sensor or such like although i get no code or results from a simple CAM OBD2 reader. Can this be cured by adjustment to the fuel injection at sevice. or do these cars at this year only like best petrol , or is a different fault likely?
