Hi all

I'm new to the forums in fact I've just signed up. I'm hoping you guys may be able to help me with a question my dad has about his e class convertibles rear seat belts.

They have a "child seat lock" mechanism built into the rear seat belts according to the manual. Now they don't use child seats but when anyone who is slightly on the rotund size sits in the back and does the belt up where they have to pull it right out the child seat lock activates and the belt locks. It will go in but you can't roll anymore out so the person sitting in the seat is basically pinned into the seat until they undo the belt let it go all the way back in which disengages the mechanism. Then they can put it back on.

I've tried it a few times and noticed that it happens when you pull the belt the whole way out as much as you can.

Just wondered if anyone has come across this and wether they have a remedy.

Thanks
Ade.
