Hello all I'm new to this forum, and there is some great info on this brilliant. I have a question, if I have any oil leak would this affected my timing chain tensioner as there would be drop in oil pressure. I'm going at it tomorrow think it's coming from oil housing and cooler. And would 5w 40 be better oil than 5w 20 106000 miles cls 250cdi. Any help would be great thanks.

To effect the tensioner I would suspect that there would need to be a huge loss in pressure not just a small leak. If the loss is big enough to effect the tensioner, you would probably know about it!

In short. No. Unless it had no oil in it.

If you have a chain rattle as well, then its a seperate fault for you to sort.
