The brakes on my SL work really well for the most part. However on a number of occasions the pedal travels further than usual but still the brakes work well, it's just that for a split second it feels as if the brakes are failing and so does my heart. This fault is intermittent and happens at any speed or engine revs and with no particular time interval. My big worry is, of course, that this may well mean that there is a bigger underlying problem. Advice is eagerly sought and will be gratefully received. ABS is fitted and works well.
