This site should come in very handy.especaily to my mates who still have their bikes, and me of course (who will get another one day).
But even on the car it should prove good, thanks!.
Don't be to sure about that in France, or Spain for that matter, i know for a fact that they terget tourists as a means or revenue.
A friend of mine got fined on the spot in Spain, £90 for being 7km, yes 7km over the limit on a motorway. They took him off the motorway to a bank to get the cash, before they would let him go on his way!!
I got an on the spot £90 fine in France in 1999 on the autoroute. Not complaining, just agreeing that they are not very laissez-faire any more.
And, recently (mid 2001) a law was passed allowing for the automatic suspension for drivers caught breaking the speed limit by 40km/h or more. They don't ALWAYS apply it, but they have said they can enforce this against tourists too.
