Folks ,
I bought an S320 "2001" -55K, last month, and after 2 weeks the Airmatic developed a problem and they replaced the pump and 2 hose pipes . (I am new to this so please excuse technical ignorance). Fine, the horrible drilling type noise ceased and everything seemed ok. At this point may I say I have not had any computer readouts/ warnings of failure of any kind.
I drove home from work last night, switched the engine off, and from the front offside came an awful loud drilling/pumping/ and belching type noise which lasted for 7 minutes.....>>> yes , with the engine off! The airmatic I presume was shutting down and perhaps using battey power??
Any way , is it perhaps a relay/control unit/ sensor type of fault?

I will take the car to Mercedes garage tomorrow (under warranty), but I am just concerned and would like some independent advice to allay my fears,

thanks folks for your anticipated help!

:-(

I remember seeing a lot of posts on the site about a lot of trouble with that suspension, a search would be advisable. I know also from some friends that there are occurrences of the spheres and the body parts clashing, MB try to call the normal but it will eventually blow the suspension again. That noise you are hearing is certainly not normal but don't let them tell you it is.
