S600 W221 headlight

Hi everyone
I have a s600 w221 2011,but the two lights on the inside of the headlights do not come on at any time (not even on main beam).they both have lamps in and look ok,I’ve never had a fault come up on dash and it’s been serviced by Mercedes since new but has never been picked up.A friend has a S63 same year and when he pushes the stalk to main beam they light up.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Have you checked the bulbs. It may be they only come on at night.

My main beam only comes on when it is dark, and the road ahead is clear of traffic. The only way to do it manually is to move the light switch to "on", otherwise it defaults to automatic. I presume the S class is similar.

These would have been bixenon lights and those nearest the grill are for the night vision, they aren’t main beam lamps

Just a detail - if you have night vision, then you'll have a switch for it. And you can't use 'night vision' in the daytime (unlike the Audi system).
