I understand the support is terrible and they tend to break a lot, so should fit a Merc perfectly ;)

I recently bought the Garmin Nuvi 310 with Bluetooth and I can't recommend it highly enough. Very small (about the size of a pack of playing cards) so you can easily, and I mean easily, slip it into your pocket. Yet the screen is big enought to see it well. The bluetooth is excellent, I never use my ear-piece in the car any more. The software is very very good, with cheap speed camera databases available.

Unlike my old sat nav it works fine with heat reflective windscreens and picks up a satellite signal even when I turn it on in my living room!

I got it from satnav2u.com, very fast delivery and good price. If you want to drive in mainland Europe get the 360 instead of the 310 but you can buy extra maps (on SD card) for the 310 if you need them.

I really like the extra software too. It does MP3's, dictionary's, audio books, currency conversion. Look at it as a PMA with sat nav. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I agree with the points above about Tom Tom's. I appear to have 2 Nav Man's and 2 Garmins (2610 & 2620) as well as the Alpine system fitted to my wifes Accord. The Garmin is excellent plus the 2610 works well on a motorbike (it even crashes well) :D :(

My previous was a navman on an Ipaq. Worked ok (ish) except the coast road through Galway wasn't on it (said I was driving through a field) and some of the "roads" it took me down in Cornwall would have scuppered a tractor. It also stopped working when I had a heat relfective screen fitted to the Audi (after breaking the old one) so I had to get an external aerial which meant wires everywhere. My biggest gripe with Navman was that there was no way to upgrade their maps other than just buying them all over again at about £170 a pop!

Go with the Garmin.

Nice strap line, perhaps you should sell Garmin the rights to it. :D

I like the Road Angel Navigator as it's got the Sat Nav and speed camera detection too :)
