As I only do around 2,500 miles pa (dry miles only) do I just use the assyst service reccomendations, or is it worth having extra oil changes in between or any other check ups ?

In my opinion ASSYST is adequate; you will still have only done 5000 miles when the two years kicks in.

I hate having my oil changed at a messily 8k miles and that is the most I will ever do.

You are fortunate if you are still on the old 2 year service intervals. My SL350 is 2007 and on annual servicing, so oil changed at around 4k miles each year. No choice if I want to keep it on Mobilo.

That is true, 99% got moved over in 2006, this one must have missed out .

Mines registered December 2006. Built month earlier but on the 2 year service indication - around 3 k dry miles myself. So service every two years when it flashes up
